Lead Data Engineer - SG

Reporting to the Regional Head of Data & BI, this role requires a hands-on approach to lead a team of data engineers to build and upkeep data pipelines, data warehouse, and analytics platforms to ensure data accuracy, data integrity and security. This role requires the individual to be located onsite in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data pipelines, databases, and data infrastructure on cloud solutions

• Implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.

• Optimize data pipelines, queries, and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess technological options, and propose architectural solutions.

• Mentor, coach, and guide a team of data engineers, providing technical leadership and support.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of relational databases.

• Extensive experience in Python, SQL, or other scripting languages is required. Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, EMR, RDS) is a must.

• Self-motivated, proactive and excellent communication skills. Experience in the e-commerce industry is an advantage.

• Bachelor or degrees above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant degrees.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior engineering role. Strong technical background in designing and implementing data pipelines, databases, and analytical tools.
